Hey all you wonderful people! So I totally said that I was going to write a blog post two weeks ago... but we got so busy and I honestly just forgot. But I am getting there now! =)
I feel like I say this in every update but my time here is going so FAST! I will be home in 8 months, tomorrow. What in the world. Time is just flying by. Honestly I am super happy it is going so fast but I am SO sad it is going so fast. I am happy because I want to see my family and that means that I get to meet my niece/nephew faster (even though they are even born yet... haha). And I get to be home faster. I am so terribly sad though because I am loving it here. Now that it is spring and everything is GREEN and the weather is so wonderful. And I have become so close to my family, I am not wanting my time to go so fast. I don't want to leave them. I hope that makes sense...
This past month has been super fun! The boys had 2 weeks off for Easter Break. (Two weeks........ I wish we had two weeks off back home...) We had so much fun in those two weeks. The first week we went to the Deutsch Museum. That place is HUGE and it has so many things to look at. I loved it. We are going to go back sometime because we didn't even get through half of it. So that was fun. We also went swimming. Maria was super cute. We put her in the pool and she wasn't too sure about it. But then we put her in the hot tub and she loved it. It was so funny. She was so happy so we stayed in there for awhile. There was this fun slide that we went on and I took Dodo and she loved it. She kept wanting to go again and again! We had a fun time. =) And then this last week we went hiking! It was SUPER pretty! We went up in the Alps. (Picture below) Loved it! Zelkjo's sister is here visiting us and I have loved getting to know her. She is super nice and fun to talk to. (I love it when people can speak English... hahah.) So that has been the last two weeks.
And we have just been plugging along. Going with the flow. I went to their church with them two weeks ago. That was interesting. It was cool to see a different church and see how they do things. I feel like it was a concert the whole time! We went in and a band came on the stage and were singing Christian songs. And then a preacher came and gave the lesson. And then the band came back and sang more. It was pretty great. To me that isn't church. Because my church is completely different. But I respect their church so it is church for them! =) One of the reasons that I went with them, aside from the fact that I was interested to see another church, was that I wanted to meet some of the people who are going to Prague with me next weekend. And I did. I met three of the people who are going. They are super nice and I am way excited! (For those of you who don't know...) I am going to Prague next weekend, just for Saturday and Sunday. I am SOO excited to see some other places in Europe. It will be such a great time. And then two weeks after I am going to Prague I am headed to Paris for 5 days! May is going to be a very fun month!!!
I hadn't gone to church for 3 weeks and I was finally able to go again last weekend, on Easter. It was so nice to be back. A lot of people were gone visiting their friends and on vacation because of the holiday but it was great to be able to take the sacrament again and just to be at church. I love the gospel. The missionaries are coming over to the house tomorrow and I am super excited for that. One of the missionaries, Elder Orchard, goes home next Friday and we are really sad. Zeljko and Nevena both connected with him really well. I hope that they will still want to have the missionaries over even after he leaves. It is so fun to talk to them about the gospel and to hear what they believe. I love it. I just love the gospel so much. Everything about it. I am so happy to be a part of it and to have it in my life. I am so excited that my little brother is going on a mission to Madagascar. It was CRAZY when he opened his call but we are all so excited for him. He is going to be an amazing missionary. =)
I love you all so much. I am so thankful for everyone that has ever been a part of my life. Each and everyone of you has been an example to me and I am so thankful to each of you. You helped me become the person I am today and you helped me have the goals and the faith that I have. I feel everyone's prayers who pray for me. They have helped me so much since I have been gone. I can't wait to see everyone again and to have all of my experiences here to tell you about! I am keeping my head held high through the hard times and the easy times. I love Heavenly Father and I am so thankful that I know that He is there for me. I love having a personal life assistant watching over me, knowing what I should do and shouldn't do, and knowing where I am supposed to go. =) Pray to Him always. Even though He knows everything about you, He loves hearing from you. And you will find that you love talking to Him, as I have. =)
Love you all!
-Kasey =)
